The funding for school partnerships consists of a lump sum. The amount is specified according to the number of mobilities your school plans to conduct during the two year project cycle.
You have a lot of flexibility in the way you spend the grant, so long as you carry out the minimum number of mobilities. Besides financing visits to partner schools, you can also spend the grant on local project activities in and around your school.
What is a mobility?
A mobility is one return visit by one person to a partner institution abroad. A visit undertaken by two teachers and two pupils, for example, would count as four mobilities. Types of mobility activity include project meetings, headteacher or teacher study visits, class exchanges, teacher exchanges, and project evaluation meetings.
For information on eligible mobility activity refer to the Application Guidance and the Essential Grant Guidance on the Application Forms and Guidance page.
What are the grant levels for UK schools?
The tables below set out the lump sum grants for UK schools in 2009. The funding covers both years of the partnership. The funding is for the UK school, rather than for the partnership as a whole.
