Guide to the Organisation of Science and Technology (GOST)

GOST offers a comprehensive picture of the way in which science and technology is organised in the UK. The guide is concerned with research and development, especially in those centres which are funded wholly or partly by government departments or by the research councils.

Major areas of science and technology have been grouped under the broad portfolios of the relevant government departments. Meanwhile, non-governmental public organisations have also been included within those sections dealing with government departmental responsibilities although the demarcation of these organisations has been made explicit.
