DNA 50 years and on
2003 is the 50th anniversary of the discovery of the double helix structure of DNA in the UK. To celebrate this discovery, together with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, we organised many events around the world including China.
DNA touring exhibition in China is mainly sponsored by GlaxoSmithKline.
DNA Exhibition
Large models of DNA, graphic pictures and the story behind the discovery make our DNA touring exhibition to Guangzhou, Chongqing, Beijing and Shanghai from June to November 2003 an excellent chance to learn about discovery of DNA in Britain.
Making DNA Models
In April 2003, Dr Graeme Jones from the UK helped delighted students at Beijing Yuying School make models of DNA. Students from several senior schools in Beijing also learned about bioscience through assembling DNA kits under the supervision of Dr Jones.
