WHAT HAPPENS ON THIS TEST DATE?

written part of the test:
1. Arrives at the test venue at 8:00 am
- Arrive at the Test Centre before 8:00 am on the test day. Registration ends at 8:30 am. Candidates who arrive after 8:30 am will not be allowed to sit the written part of the test and will not be eligible for transfer, cancellation or refund of any kind. Such candidates may choose to sit the speaking test.
- Look for your name in the name lists on the campus, remember your test room number
- Go to the waiting room following the Test Centre staff’s instruction
- Listen carefully for the pre-test briefing given by the centre staff
2. Check in - 8:00 am to 8:30 am:
- Line up in numerical order of candidate number outside the test room as required by the Test Centre staff. Please use washroom before you line up.
- You should have your identity card and one passport-sized colour photo ready for check-in. The photo should be taken within the past 6 months with signature at the back. Please leave your personal belongings in the designated area.
- The Usher will escort you into the exam room. The Invigilator will check your identity and photo when you enter.
- Find your seat according to the desk label
- Be seated and take your time to test your headphone
3. Be prepared for the test – 8:30 am to 9:00 am:
- After all candidates sit down, the invigilator may begin the instruction
- Your identity will be collected and will be returned to you before the end of Writing test.
- You will be given the L/R Answer Sheet. Fill in the L/R Answer sheet (Listening and Reading answer sheet on each side of this piece of paper) by following the instruction
- Test your headphone following the instruction
- You will be given the Listening booklet and asked to write your name/candidate number on the cover
- You are NOT allowed to open the booklet until the tape tells you to do so.
- You will be asked to test your headphone again before the start of the test
4. During the test--9:00 am to 12:00 am:
- The test begins at 9:00am.
- Listen to the Invigilator and do what you are asked to do.
- If you hare in doubt about what you should do, raise your hand to attract attention. The Invigilator will come to your assistance.
- Tell the Invigilator at once if you think you have not been given the right question paper, of if the question paper is incomplete or illegible.
- You may not lend anything to, or borrow anything from, another candidates during the test.
- Please stop writing and put your pencils down when you are instructed to do so. Candidates who fail to do so may be disqualified.
speaking part of the test:
- •Please arrive at the test centre at least 30 minutes prior to your scheduled interview time and register for the speaking test with the centre staff. Candidates who arrive less than 15 minutes prior to the scheduled interview time may not be admitted to the speaking test and will not be eligible for transfer, cancellation, or refund of any kind.
- Bring your identity with you for the speaking test.
- Wait in the waiting room following Test Centre staff’s instruction. The centre staff will escort you to your test room. Please wait outside until the examiner invites you into the room.
- The speaking test lasts between 11 to 14 minutes.
- When you finish your speaking test, leave the test venue immediately. Do not talk to anybody about your test, otherwise you might be regarded as breaking the examination rules.
ADVICE:
- You can check your candidate number and interview time online at the NEEA IELTS Online Registration website 2 working days before the test.
- Please read the China Ielts Candidates Rules very carefully before you sit the exam.
- Please bring your identity, one passport-sized color photo taken within the past 6 months with signature at the back and your confirmation letter to the venue.
- •Please remember to present the SAME valid identity document used for registration at both the written test and the speaking test. If the identification document presented at the test contains personal information different from that provided upon registration, you might not be admitted to the test and not be entitled to transfer, cancellation or refund in any form.
- •We strongly suggest you NOT to bring mobile phone or any other electronic devices to the venue. All electronic devices are not allowed to bring into the exam room, even they are switched off. This applied to both the written tests and the speaking interviews. Any candidates who bring electronic devices into the exam room will be disqualified.
- Candidates will not be allowed to bring any personal belongings into the test room, apart from their identity cards and the photo required. This applies to both the written tests and the speaking interviews. Please do NOT bring any valuables to the test venue. While there will be an area where candidates can leave personal items, neither The British Council (operating in China as the Cultural and Education Section of the British Embassy/Consulates-General) nor the Test Centre will take responsibility for personal items. Items left in the personal belongings area are left there at the candidate’s own risk.
