1. What are the qualities that an international young creative entrepreneur must possess?

Character and leadership ability

2. On what parameters will the applicants be short-listed?
Short-listing will be done based on the qualities and vision of the candidate to be a potential leader in their national design sector, with an entrepreneurial drive that is tied to a strong creative ability.
3. Is there room for flexibility in the age criteria?
Applicants will have to be strictly within the age range between 25 to 35 years.
4. Is the award open to Chinese nationals based outside China?
Yes, as long as they can contribute to China’s design sector.
5. Do I need to be a designer?
We recognise that a participant may strongly influence the business of design without being a practising designer.
6. I have business ideas in design but am not an entrepreneur. Can I apply?

7. Do I need to send samples of my work?
This is not essential. If you wish to send them please note that British Council will not take responsibility for any damages caused.
8. I am teacher of design. Can I apply?
Applicants who are primarily academics are unlikely to be short-listed or successful.
9. How is this award different?
The award celebrates artistic talent but what sets IYDEY apart is that it recognises design entrepreneurs – the people behind this process, with the enterprise that must go hand in hand with creativity to make a living from it: to both promote high quality design and its importance on their national agenda.
