What is ELTeCS?
The English Language Teaching Contacts Scheme (ELTeCS) is a global network of English teaching professionals, which promotes the sharing of teaching experience, ideas and expertise.
ELTeCS Burma
Here in Burma the ELTeCS network is a community of about 1500 teachers of English from every type of institute (at present mainly in the capital), and also freelancers.
Our main activities are
Monthly Sunday morning meetings hosted by different schools. At each one there are several workshops or seminars. These are sociable occasions, and refreshments are provided. There is no entry charge.
A newsletter three times a year.
The British Council and ELTeCS Burma annual ELT conference.
Sponsoring occasional visits to international conferences and training events.
Providing opportunity for some teachers to follow British Council courses for English teachers.
Occasional meetings of representatives from the main participating schools to exchange ideas for future events.
