Things you need to know about Tier-4 Point-Based System

Burmese students who are intending to study in the UK are required to explore more about the new Tier-4 point-based system which was introduced since 31 March 2009.  It is advisable for the students to check on the link to make sure that the UK institutions that they are planning on attending are on the approved sponsors list of UK Border Agency.  

Only the visa letter which is an official and unconditional offer of a place on a course of study at an acceptable level from an approved education provider (see above) will make you eligible for applying the UK Visa.  The visa letter must be also issued no more than six months before you apply.

As an adult student, you must have:

30 points for a visa letter

10 points for having enough money (also know as maintenance or funds) for your course fees and living costs

You will only get the points if our approved education provider has met all the requirements of the immigration rules when they issue your visa letter, and all the documents listed in the visa letter are sent with your application.  You must also send proof of your availability of money.  Click here to see the checklist of the documents you need to submit when applying for UK Student Visa from the British Embassy, Yangon.

Below table show the amount of maintenance (funds) that you will be required to submit in your visa application.
