Our Building

The British Council moved to its current premises on 7 Krakra Street in Sofia in 2001. The prominent art-deco building on the corner with Oborishte Street is listed as a national monument of culture. It was originally erected in 1921 as the family house of the distinguished entrepreneur Doncho Palaveev.

Palaveev Room

We named the major space on the ground floor after the Palaveev family in recognition of the history of the building. The venue combines state-of-the-art equipment with the unsurpassable atmosphere of the authentic wood panelling and chandeliers we have preserved in expression of our respect to cultural heritage.
