Parliamentary activities

Involving MPs and Peers in our work is a crucial part of building long-term, sustainable relationship links for the UK overseas.  The Parliamentary Affairs Team works with MPs and Peers from all parties through the British Council Associate Parliamentary Group and through specific projects to help MPs contribute to debates around issues of public and cultural diplomacy.

Aims

We work to provide a forum for the discussion of the promotion of the UK via public diplomacy.

Derek Wyatt MP

Officers

The British Council Associate Parliamentary Group officers are MPs and Peers who work closely with us to keep their colleagues in Westminster up to date on the work of the British Council and to support us in our aims.

Activities

We organise a range of events for parliamentarians including speaker meetings and briefing dinners and lunches.
