Cultural relations

Our role in the world today

We recognise that cultural relations builds international trust and understanding, generates opportunities for individuals to fulfil their potential and fosters the co-operation that contributes to a stable world.

Cultural relations needs to address the great global challenges of its time. For the UK over the coming years these are the need to build intercultural dialogue, create opportunity for people to participate in the knowledge economy and tackle the threat to us all presented by climate change.

Our approach to cultural relations harnesses the power of education, the arts and creativity, sport, science, English and governance to build relationships of mutual benefit worldwide and to address global issues.
