Open Learning Membership
Are you an independent learner/ Are you interested in developing your skills under the guidance of a professional counsellor? We are pleased to offer you an Enhanced Learning Package

Readers and Conversation Club
A Reader’s club gives you an opportunity to talk about your reading experiences rather than the book itself; how the book made you feel- whether you absolutely loved/hated the book and why. The readers’ clubs help to inspire young people to read and broaden their world outlook and to give them opportunity to express themselves.

Study Skills Seminars
The Study Skills Seminars are designed to improve study strategies and aim to equip learners with certain knowledge and the skills to help them become more effective learners and take on more responsibility for their own learning. British Council Resource Centre is organizing regular seminars facilitated by ELT experts for Open Learning members. Participants learn more about time management and concentration techniques, taking and using notes, understanding personal learning styles, test-taking techniques, and increasing reading and study efficiency. As we are focusing teachers of English language, we also organize special seminars for teachers to develop their pedagogical and language skills. Verb Pattern, Tips for CV Writing, Develop Your Listening Skills, English on Web are some areas we cover at the seminar.

The seminar runs from our Cyber Zone for the OL members once a month.

Film of the Week Conversation
The service has been introduced for the OL members. The main objective is not only entertainment but also improving listening skills, understanding different cultures and improving conversational English. We received many requests from our members saying that there is a little opportunity for them to develop their conversation skill. Through this service, the members get a chance to learn through entertainment as most of them love watching films.

Resource Centre Membership
You can apply for Resource Centre Membership which costs
TK700 for 3 (three) months
TK1200 for 6(Six) months
TK2000 for one year and entitles you to:

Borrow up to 4 books (4 attached CD) 3 back issues of periodicals (3 attached CD) for three weeks and 2 VDs form general section for one week. Also you can participate in different event organized for Open Learning members    
Free initial an hour access to internet in our fast modern hi-tech Cyber Zone and Free one hour (per day) access to listening Practice session.   
Full access to our collection of reference books, newspapers, magazines, periodicals, English learning materials (audio cassettes and CDs)   
Access to our growing range of on-line resources (a fast efficient way of accessing information you need from dictionaries, encyclopaedias, newspapers using our computers)   
View our range of professional development and educational DVDs in the library   
Free placement and progress test   
Counsellor's support to plan the learners' study, to advise on the , most appropriate study materials and to deal with any specific problems.   
Study skills workshop and seminars run by professionals

Open Learning Corporate Membership
Your organisation you can apply for Open Learning  Corporate Membership, which costs Tk15000 for the one year  and entitles your organisation to:

Borrow up to 25 books, 10 periodicals and 4 CDs for a period of eight weeks   
Borrow 5 training videos for one week   
Free initial one hour access to internet in our fast modern hi-tech Cyber Zone and in the listening section.   
20 staff from the organization will get special services from Readers and Conversaion club, study skills seminar, placement and progress test ect.   
Full access to our collection of reference books, newspapers, magazines, periodicals, English learning materials (audio cassettes and CDs)   
Access to our growing range of on-line resources (a fast efficient way of accessing information you need from dictionaries, encyclopaedias, newspapers using our computers)   
Facilities of documentary video show in the British Council Premises only   

General Corporate Membership
Your organisation you can apply for General Corporate Membership, which costs TK8000 for and entitles your organisation to:

Borrow up to 25 books from our lending collection for eight weeks   
Borrow 5 training videos for one week   
Free initial half an hour access to internet in our fast modern hi-tech Cyber Zone for two people at any one time   
Borrow up to 10 back issues of any periodical for eight weeks   
Full access to our collection of reference books, newspapers, magazines, periodicals, English learning materials (audio cassettes and CDs)   
Access to our growing range of on-line resources (a fast efficient way of accessing information you need from dictionaries, encyclopaedias, newspapers using our computers)   
View our range of professional development and educational videos in the library   

Young Learners’ Individual Membership
Young people, between ages of 4 - 15 can apply for Young Learners’ Individual Membership (with parental assistance) which costs TK1800 for the first year (and Tk1800 for subsequent years) and entitles them to:

Borrow up to 4 books from our Young Learners’ Zone lending collection for three weeks   
Borrow 2 Young Learners’ videos  and 1 DVD for one week   
Free initial half an hour access to internet in our fast modern hi-tech Cyber Zone   
Full access to our collection of Young Learners’ reference books, magazines, videos   
Access to our computers and full range of CD Roms   
Access to our range of audio based English learning materials fot kids   
Invitations to our range of Young Learners’ events (story telling, art competitions, magic shows, film shows, fairs etc)   

Young Learners’ Corporate Membership
Your school can apply for Young Learners’ Corporate Membership which costs Tk10000 for the first year (Tk7500 for subsequent years) and entitles the school to:

Borrow up to 25 books from our Young Learners’ Zone lending collection for eight weeks   
Borrow 5 Young Learners’ videos and 1 DVD fr one week   
Free initial access to internet in  our fast modern hi-tech Cyber Zone, for any two members of staff at any one time   
Bring groups of children to access our collection of Young Learners’ books, magazines, audio cassettes, CD Roms and videos   

Family Membership
As a family you can apply for Family Membership which costs TK4,000 for one year entitles 2 adults and two children oany member of your family to:

Borrow up to 8 books from our lending collection (including Open Learning materials) for three weeks   
Borrow any 2 DVD for one week   
Free initial half an hour access to internet in our fast modern hi-tech Cyber Zone   
Borrow up to 3 back issues of any periodical for 3 weeks   
Full access to our collection of reference books, newspapers, magazines, periodicals, English learning materials (audio cassettes and CDs)   
Access to our growing range of on-line resources (a fast efficient way of accessing information you need from dictionaries, encyclopaedias, newspapers using our computers)
