What is AUKAA?
The AUKAA is a network of Azerbaijani professionals who have been to the UK under various study programmes and schemes. It was launched on 23 September 2005 and it is supported by British Council, BP and British Embassy. The AUKAA’s objective is to establish and develop an effective network of alumni who have benefited from education in the UK and are looking to stay connected.
Who can join it?
The members of the network include more than 50 Azerbaijani professionals, who have been to the UK under various educational, training or professional development schemes, including but not limited to FCO Chevening Scholarship, OSI Chevening Scholarship, John smith Fellowship and Hornby Scholarship programs. Self-funded individuals who have been to the UK under professional study programs are also encouraged to join the AUKAA.
How does it operate?
The AUKAA is managed by the alumni themselves. The network aims to establish and maintain professional links and potential business relationships within Azerbaijan and in the UK; promote and carry out workshops, training, seminars, conferences, fellowship opportunities for its members, assist in the reform process in the country (research, projects, expert support, etc.), assist with recruitment, orientation and debriefing activities for new participants of various education schemes and carry out other events and activities.
What opportunities does it offer to members?
The AUKAA is an excellent way for British alumni to stay connected, make new contacts, continue developing links with the UK, and support their professional development. The AUKAA also gives an opportunity for social networking, information exchange, business cooperation and mutual support.
