British Council GreeceWork Permits/Visas/Carnets/FormsMovement of artists between UK and Greece has no restrictions, since both countries are members of EU, but UK citizens do need passports, as the UK is not a signatory of the Schengen Convention. Visas, registration, work permits, carnets or forms for UK citizens are not required. Holders of non-EU passports should enquire with the Greek Embassy.
TaxTax is paid on any income earned in Greece (usually 20% of the income), so artists should arrange these payments with their partners in Greece.
InsuranceMedical coverage is the same as offered to Greeks (hospitalisation, emergency services, Greek NHS GP registration). Visits to outpatient services of all hospitals do not necessary require making appointments, but one must be prepared to queue. Antibiotics are sold freely by pharmacies without prescription, but prescription is necessary for other type of medication, such as antidepressants, strong painkillers and other medicines that may have severe side-effects.
FreightCargo despatch of props and other effects usually requires 3-4 working days to clear through customs. There are severe restrictions for carriage of any type of uncooked meat into the country, as well as for the export of any kind of antiquities or items dating before the 15th century.
