REVIEW EXTRACTS
‘A tremendous, thrilling fusion of differences – theatre and music, northern and eastern European attitudes… wonderfully wrenching, reeling folk music…moved me much more than I ever could have expected.’ Time Out London (Subway)
‘Blissfully funny and well-observed. Matthew Lenton brings his barrage of theatrical brilliance to the telling of the tale… Subway has barrow loads of style, haunting futuristic imagery and a fine anarchic spirit.’ The Scotsman
‘Vanishing Point’s brilliant visual show infests the subconscious… a company of vision and immense talent… a singular act of the imagination.’ The Guardian (Lost Ones)
CURRENT PRODUCTIONS
Subway A journey through a landscape a few years from now, a show about small acts of rebellion and where they lead. Featuring an extraordinary seven-piece band from Kosovo. (80 mins, no interval, 9 on stage, 15 on the road, includes strong language.)
Lost Ones A strange, beautiful and ever so slightly twisted show with performance, extraordinary design and anarchic live music. (70 mins, no interval, 6 on stage, 10 on the road, includes strong language.)
Mancub A collaboration with Douglas Maxwell, a story about a boy who thinks he is turning into animals. (80 mins, no interval, 3 on stage, 7 on the road, includes strong language.)
FUTURE PRODUCTIONS
Little Otik A spectacular adaptation of Jan Svankmajer’s darkly satirical film about a childless couple trying to have a baby. When the husband finds a piece of wood in the shape of a baby, his wife believes the child is real. But soon the wooden child does take life and his voracious appetite proves insatiable. A co-production with the National Theatre of Scotland in association with Citizens’ Theatre, Glasgow.
WRAP-AROUND
Vanishing Point’s workshops are based on each production. Idea-to-stage demonstrations incorporating pre- and post-show forums, focusing on the development of an idea through improvisation and play to its formation as a piece of theatre.
