In August 2002 the Picture This: Contemporary Illustration From London exhibition toured to Bogotá, Colombia.
Paul Davis, a UK illustrator, accompanied the exhibition and gave several lectures on new tendencies in graphic design and illustration at the Banco de la Republica, the Biblioteca Luis Angel Arango and to the design departments of Universidad de los Andes, Universidad Nacional, Universidad Jorge Tadeo Lozano and Lasalle Collegue. Paul also gave guided tours around the exhibition and critiques to the final year students when he visited their college studios.
Design is becoming a growth industry in Colombia. Enrolment in industrial and graphic design courses has increased dramatically over the past year and there is a marked increase in interest in British design and expertise. Exhibitions like Picture This attract good media attention, allowing the local British Council office to convey the image of contemporary Britain to a larger audience in Colombia.
Paul lectures in London and has a wide and varied client list including Pentagram, Virgin, IBM and BT.
