The original version of this exhibition was a creative partnership between Barefoot Books and Manchester Art Gallery, and featured the original artwork of these illustrators along with the books and many activities including those listed above, but also dressing-up and storytelling with a professional fairy!
Though we can’t provide you with the original illustrations or the dressing-up clothes, we have worked with Barefoot Books to bring together an ‘exhibition pack’ for you which includes framed prints of the illustrations, the books, teaching materials and activities for children. See below for more information on each of these.
The Imagine exhibition is split into four sections reflecting some of the ‘places stories can take you’. These sections are
What does the exhibition pack include?
The exhibition pack includes:
Books and prints
There is a list of books and prints available to stage a full Imagine exhibition. All prints are 36cm x 46cm, landscape or portrait. There is only one title where the print is unavailable, Animal Tales. In some cases there are two prints available as they relate to different parts of the exhibition and have different activities associated with them. Please note that the prints have no text, except for the name of the illustration (in English) and the artist (in English). Browse the list of books and prints available here. All the books and CDs are in English
How can you access it?
The British Council Argentina can send you the exhibition pack at no cost. Please contact us, if you wish to book it. Each school or institution borrowing the exhibition will have it for a maximum of two weeks. We then need another week to send it onto the next school. If you wish to book it for a specific date, eg coinciding with a Book Fair, please contact us as soon as possible.
How can you use it?
The Imagine exhibition pack can be used in a number of ways. A few are suggested in this document, but those teaching young learners will probably think of many other ways of using it. You will also be able to get ideas from the teaching materials and resources for each title. We also have suggestions from the Imagine exhibition at Manchester Art Gallery. See all suggestions.
