In a globally connected and competitive world, English is one of the keys to economic growth and human development. The British Council’s role is to help make this key as accessible as possible. Our aim is to address the Millennium Development Goals by raising the quality of education through English in Africa.

British Council English by radio programmes are broadcast in 25 countries across Africa to an audience of over 13 million listeners.
