Irvin Curves

Irvin curves are used to determine average conductivity (ρ) for diffused layers given 2 of the three following parameters:

• N_s (surface concentration)
• x/x_j (for buried layers)
• average conductivity

The curves are sorted by diffusion profile (either erfc or Gaussian), type (n or p), and background doping concentration (N_c).

Alternatively, Irvin.net can be used to calculate exact values for the average conductivity.
