SPSS Commuter Licenses

To use SPSS 16.0 off of campus or offline, you will need to check out a commuter license since SPSS checks its license against the licensing server each time it is run. Checking out a commuter license must be done on the campus network. If the computer is not on campus, it has to have a checked-out commuter license in order to run SPSS 16.0. See our instructions for checking out SPSS commuter licenses.

Wireless change: Computers connecting to the campus wireless network now have to be registered using a Bama (myBama) account name and password. This requires no change to the computer configuration. If you wish to use the wireless network, connect as you normally would and then open any website. You will be presented with a page requesting your Bama account information, and the next page will give information about how to proceed. Your Bama account information is the same user name and password you use to access myBama: click this link if you have forgotten yours.

If your department hosts people who will require guest access to the wireless network, please contact the HelpDesk at 348-HELP (4357) or help.desk@ua.edu.
