What do you need for RAPID ILL?

RAPID ILL is only for journal article requests.

To make your Interlibrary Loan request eligible for RAPID ILL, you are required to have the following information:

1. Title of the journal - no abbreviations

2. Year

3. ISSN

If you have all of this information, you are ready to Login to ILLiad and place your Interlibrary Loan request.

Help finding an ISSN

Scenario 1 - Using the UF Library Catalog

The UF Libraries own the journal, but we do not own the volume and issue you need.

  • From the library catalog, type in the title of the journal you are looking for.
  • When you find the journal you need from the results list, click on its title to see more details.
  • Look through the information and find the ISSN.  The ISSN is an eight digit number, usually with a hyphen (e.g. 1345-1999).
  • Copy and paste this number along with all other relevant information into the Interlibrary Loan request.

Scenario 2 - Using WorldCat.org

The UF Libraries do not own the journal at all.

  • Go to the Worldcat.org advanced search option.
  • Type in the title of the journal you are looking for in the title field.
