Step One: View our degree programs

Step Two: Apply for Admission

The admission process begins with the completion of a graduate application. These applications may be found and completed online or downloaded and submitted by mail.  The graduate application may be found at

Students may choose to take classes for non-degree seeking purposes such as certification renewal, professional development, or personal enrichment.  The graduate non-degree application may be found at


  • an undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or a 3.0 for the last 60 credit hours of undergraduate work.
  • a 3.0 for a completed masters degree from an accredited institution.
  • an acceptable graduate entrance exam score:  GRE (300) or the MAT (50th percentile).

Step Three: Submit Transcripts

Request to have transcripts from all previously attended institutions sent to The University of Alabama.


  • Applicants must submit transcripts from all colleges attended.

Step Four: Submit Test Scores


  • If you are applying for Graduate School, you will need to take an entrance exam required by the college you have chosen.

Step Five: Complete Departmental Application Requirements

  • Review the degree program websites for the departmental application requirements set by the college you have chosen.
