FAA James Scholars Celebrate a Year of Achievement
On April 22, 2012, FAA James Scholars seniors received their honors cords and celebrated with family, James Scholars from the entire college, and faculty members. A small ceremony was held in Temple Buell Hall followed by a reception.

Jeanne Gang, Architect and the AQUA buildingJeanne Gang wins MacArthur Fellowship
Chicago Sun-Times (Sept. 20): Jeanne Gang, a U. of I. alumna (BS, Architecture 1986), is one of this year’s 22 MacArthur Fellows. Having completed her undergraduate Architecture training at Illinois and graduate work at Harvard, she is best known for Aqua, the 82-story mixed-use tower on Chicago’s North Columbus Drive recognized by its undulating, wavelike facade. more. 2011 Solar Decathlon Competition
The University of Illinois entry in the 2011 Department of Energy Solar Decathlon Competion won two first-place awards in Washington, D.C. It now will reside at 3603 South Race Street in Urbana, Illinois.
