Religious Services at Department Facilities   
Religious Services seeks to help incarcerated people who wish to express and practice their chosen faith tradition and spirituality by providing a range of religious services that includes worship services, spiritual study groups, special events, and pastoral/spiritual counseling.

We serve all faith groups and currently have active programs for a range of faith traditions including Protestant, Non Denominational Christian, Muslim, Native American, Jehovah’s Witness, Seventh Day Adventist, Latter Day Saint, Buddhist, Wiccan, Hinduism and Jewish among others.

Many of the programs are directed by religious volunteers who represent their various religious or faith traditions. Volunteers are an important and appreciated part of our program. For more information on becoming a religious volunteer please contact the institutional chaplain’s office. We have a particular need for volunteers who can represent religious traditions that are not widely practiced by people in Oregon.

Religious Services can help with pastoral visitation and counseling of individuals by approved ministers or church leaders from the community. Please call the Religious Services office for information about the approval process.

If you wish to let a family member who is incarcerated know about a serious illness, death or crisis in your family, please contact a chaplain at the institutional number below. The chaplain will pass on the information for you. Inmates may contact the chaplain’s office at any time by sending an Inmate Communication Form directly to the chaplain or by referral through their counselor. If we can be of any further help to you please do not hesitate to contact us via phone, letter, or email.
