Accessing Southwest Distance Learning Classes

How do I access my classes?

SWCC delivers course content in a variety of ways, including:

circle icon instructor led classroom delivery
circle icon internet-based
circle icon hybrid (a combination of classroom and internet delivery)
circle icon compressed video (you attend class in one of our on or offsite classrooms, but content/instructor may be in another location)
circle icon video (media delivery)

Instructors for any type of course may use Blackboard to deliver your course content. You access Blackboard by logging i nto your MYSouthwest account.

Video courses may require that you come to the Distance Learning office located in Dellinger Hall to pick up a course pack. If you can’t get here to pick them up, we will make arrangements to get the materials to you. View floor plan>>

Can't see your classes on Blackboard?

Once you register for classes, your courses will be loaded into Blackboard within 24-48 hours.

If it has been more than 2 full days since you've registered and the course still doesn't appear, contact your instructor to verify that they are using Blackboard and to determine when they will make the page available for student view.

If you are having difficulty resolving your access issue, go to the Blackboard Helpdesk and submit your question or contact the Distance Learning office at 276.964.7279 or email requests for assistance to ddlinfo@sw.edu .
