Java provides an ideal environment in which to grasp the universal concepts of Object Oriented Programming. Use the Java API to create Graphic User Interfaces, handle mouse events & other user input, work with data structures, manage the file system, connect to a database using JDBC, and create dynamic web pages using HTML and JSP. Prerequisite: Java For New Programmers or prior programming experience.

Using Eclipse as a development environment, this course will delve into creating robust, secure web applications and web services. Learn to develop database-driven applications that separate presentation, business logic, and data persistence using the MVC (Model-View-Controller) design pattern within the JEE (Java Enterprise Edition) framework. Gain greater familiarity using Servlets, JSP, and JDBC. Prerequisite: Java I or equivalent background.
