About BamaBikes
The BamaBikes Program is a Student Affairs initiative designed to provide a low-cost bicycle rental system for The University of Alabama. The program was developed to help students move around campus in a quick, safe, and sustainable fashion. Modeled after similar initiatives at Colorado State and Duke University, BamaBikes draws upon the best features of bicycle rental systems from across the country to bring you an effective and efficient means of public transportation.
The BamaBike Program began life as an SGA Task Force in the fall of 2006. The Task Force went on to assemble a working coalition comprised of representatives from University Recreation, the Student Government Association, the Ferguson Center, and the Office of Housing and Residential Communities. Officially housed in Student Affairs, the program will have several kiosks located at Rose Towers, the Ferguson Center, the Student Recreation Center and more.
Please see our FAQ section for more information on the program.
