International Architecture and Design Showcase 2012 partners Open-City have two events coming up as part of the London Festival of Architecture. Join in the activities along with a host of international architects and industry professionals at Junior Open House and the Open House World Design Conference.
Junior Open House Festival is London’s first ever free and inspiring children’s architecture festival. The two day festival, taking place on 23 - 24 June, will turn young people into detectives of architecture – Architectives! - by exploring great architecture in the City of London’s Square Mile, and forms part of the 20th anniversary celebrations of Open-City.
Why not head to the Mosiac Rooms to visit the Home Exhibition and take part in the family events during Junior Open House, or nip to the Bishopsgate Institute to join in Design your Dome with Ana Struna Brega, Director of Open House Slovenia.

The need to ‘design in’ sustainability is the one issue that is common to all the cities in the Open House’s increasingly global ‘family’, and will be explored at the 2012 Open House Worldwide Conference, 'Smarter Cities, Smarter Thinking', on the 21st & 22nd of June.
This conference aims to highlight examples of smarter and creative thinking in the way existing cities are being made more sustainable for the future, showcasing more holistic approaches that generate social and economic alongside environmental benefits. It brings together professionals from the built environment and technology, energy and sustainability sectors and Open House cities.
