What is Summer Registration?

Summer Registration is a mandatory one-day program for all incoming students, marking the start of your college experience at Illinois. You will be unable to register for classes without attending a registration session.

  • Meet new and current students.
  • Attend sessions and meet with staff from campus offices such as financial aid, housing, campus safety, and health services/student insurance.
  • Visit a residence hall.
  • Receive answers to your questions about being a student at Illinois.

Choosing a Registration Program

Available dates vary by college and program. Before logging in via NetID and Password to select a program date, look over planned dates for freshmen and transfer students. Also, have names of any guests and a credit card ready if you intend to pay the fee at the time of sign up.

You will only be able to sign-up for Summer Registration if you have accepted your offer of admission.

Out of State and International Students

We encourage all students to visit campus to participate in a summer registration program in June or July. However, some may not be able to participate due to excessive distance. If you live more than 500 miles from campus, you may have the option to meet with an academic advisor and register for classes online.
